Durell --

I appreciate your religious faith, but accepting God and Jesus does not require you reject science or evolution. They are separate issues, unless you believe that God literally created everything in six days about 6000 years ago. If you do, then you are also rejecting about 400 years of scientific investigation and progress, which have made our modern society possible. (The Internet is one example ...)

As for Darwin being a racist, he was a product of his times. Darwin abhorred slavery, but he probably shared the same preconceptions about blacks (and other non-whites) as, say, Abe Lincoln. Regardless of any of Darwin's personal prejudices, Darwin's theory of evolution is not racist, though many others since Darwin's death have used evolution to justify racism and genocide. People have also used (and still use) the Bible to justify racism and white supremacy. Do we then toss out out both evolution and the Bible because misguided souls used them for evil purposes?

You seem to be a reasonable person, Durell, so you should visit these sites before you reject evolution and Darwin wholesale. I hope you visit them all. Remember that Bible also teaches that wisdom is important.

3. Articles opposing creationism by a Christian geologist

4. American Scientific Affiliation, an organization of Christians "who share a common fidelity to the Word of God and a commitment to integrity in the practice of science."

Incidentally, scientists don't "believe" in evolution. It is not a matter of faith; it is a matter of accepting the evidence that overwhelmingly supports the theory. We accept evolution as a fact, and modern evolutionary theory as the best way to understand it. There are many scientists who believe in a Divine Being (God, YHWH, Allah, etc.) as a matter of faith, without any scientific evidence for His/Her/Its existence. So it is possible to believe in God and Jesus Christ and still accept evolution as valid.

Well I can say that as a person who once was starting to believe in evolution Im glad that more people are starting to know the whole story of evolution and Darwin. After I examined the facts I personally have been convinced 100% that there is a God and that God is Jesus Christ who died for all of humanities depravity and saves those who repent and trust in Jesus to save him. I'am a black male and I still wonder why no one told me that Darwin was a racist. But if anyone reads this I dare you to do what I did and thats to do what the Bible says and thats repent of your sins and trust in Jesus Christ to save you. Thanks for your time and may God bless you all!
