I have been to several countries in Asia. I know that none of them come, even the least little bit, close to what we have here. I love this country. I am tolerant of folks who live differently than myself. I hope others will be tolerant of me. I also know that there are few, if any, presidents who will be known as more incompetent as the one we had to endure for last 8 years.

Hadn't realized you had Colonial ancestors, let alone connection to the prison ships. If you ever come through NYC let us take you to the Prison Ship Martyrs Monument in Fort Greene Park http://www.fortgreenepark.org/pages/prisonship.htmNow *those* were martyrs as opposed to the peculiar way the word is used in the Arab Islamic world. Though I suppose your ancestor was probably not in fact martyred (unless imprisoned *after* becoming a daddy), it's a nice visit that can be done in a morning or a bit more if you walk across the Brooklyn Bridge to get there. Nice essay, too. I not only ignore Fox but just about anything Rupert owns. I only rarely slip and buy a WSJ and haven't even looked at a NY Post discarded in a subway car since he bought it (though I do admit to guilty pleasure of reading Fred Dicker's reports from Albany, online).Happy 4th!
