JISHOU, HUNAN — As expected (by rational people), President Barack Obama will talk at noon today to students about overcoming hardships, staying on track, going to school, doing their work, and making a difference for their communities and their nation.
He even says, “God bless you and God bless America.”
I’ve read the text released ahead of time by the White House. I can’t find any socialist, Marxist, or any other kind of pernicious indoctrination. It’s not bombastic. It’s not demagoguery. In fact, he says exactly what he said he would say.
So why were people upset again?
Oh, now the right-wing talking point is that this wasn’t the ORIGINALLY intended speech, that Obama backed off from the indoctrination purpose that was planned at first. Which is, of course, ridiculous. They are left grasping at straws; Obama seems to do that to people, from Hillary in the campaign to the Republicans now.
The best tweet I saw about the whole speech thing was Chris Lehmann’s “Not sure how I’ll navigate the streets once the hordes of Obama-entranced zombie kids pour out of the schools after 3 today”.
Look deeply into my eyes … you will only think I am talking about staying in school … in fact I am talking about turning the USA into an atheist, socialist, marxist, fascist, Islamic dictatorship … remember … remember …
