The point of my post is not to compare Christianity and Islam, or judge which one is correct. My point is that Miss Bary has been perhaps deluded by people who took advantage of her youth, her inexperience, her apparent lack of schooling in her own faith, and her apparent desire to “fit in” in a community that is mostly Christian. These people have an agenda, and it is not simply to “rescue” a young girl from her “oppressive” family. Rather than discussing which holy book is correct, akhter, you should be discussing the morality of duping a teenager into doing some really stupid things, like running away from home to go to Florida.

General warning for akhter and any other visitors posting here. Inflammatory remarks about other people’s religious beliefs will be blocked. (Akhter’s is useful as a benchmark, so I let it pass.) I do not want this post to degenerate into a discussion of “my god is better than your god!” or “my book can beat your book any day!”
