Federal judge fines birther lawyer Orly Taitz $20K; Taitz says, ‘Nuts!’

JISHOU, HUNAN — US Federal Judge Clay Land, in a scathing 43-page ruling, finally put California lawyer Orly Taitz in her place for filing “frivolous” suits claiming President Barack Obama is not an American citizen.

Citing Taitz’ continued misuse of the federal judiciary and her inability to even act like a lawyer, Land ruled sua sponte that Taitz has to pay the federal government $20,000 for violating federal court procedures.

Taitz’ response was typically defiant. She told Talking Points Memo that she has no intention of paying. “This is a form of intimidation,” she said.

Land’s decision says the court would refer the matter to the US Attorney General’s office for collection, if Taitz fails to pay up. I dunno, I’d be intimidated if it were me. But I’m not monomaniacal.

TPM has the details of the latest chapter in the Orly Taitz saga, so I’ll just give the short version.

Taitz, a California dentist and real estate broker who earned her law degree from a correspondence school, is convinced that Obama was not born in Hawai’i and is a “usurper” who cannot legally be president. She has dug up any number of documents so bogus that even fellow birthers won’t touch them.

Her latest ploy was to convince an Army Reserve doctor about to be deployed to Iraq to file suit against the Army and the federal government, alleging the doctor’s deployment in harm’s way should be delayed until the court ruled on Obama’s legitimacy as commander-in-chief.

Land basically said, forget that; the federal courts cannot interfere in military affairs. And anyway, he noted, the doctor’s superiors rescinded her orders after all the media kerfluffle about the case, so there was no case to judge. Then Taitz fired back with a line of craziness, while her own client ditched her as an attorney. Land removed Taitz as the doctor’s lawyer, but Taitz still pestered the court, even after Land threatened her with a $10,000 penalty.

Finally, Land (a Republican appointee, by the way) had enough of this nonsense and slammed Taitz in a detailed ruling, stating that he figured a $20,000 fine might finally get her attention and show her he means business.

It didn’t work.

Was the $20K fine enough? Maybe when Taitz becomes a real lawyer she will appreciate what just happened. I wonder if she is a mail order bride, just like her law degree? She is perfect reporter material for “Fake News”, where unfounded rumors and innuendo reign supreme , unlike a our US courts of law, where you need to present documented facts, not half baked lies (prepare for more failures). When flies get too close to the lights they get burned, Taitz just got burned, thing is, like a fly she will continue, no end in sight. Poor little Birthers they are haters not debaters.

A lawyer, dentist, realtor and black belt, wow I must say a JACK of all trades master of none.

  • She’s a real piece of work, for sure. I anxiously await the next chapter in her saga, when the US. Attorney General’s office starts collection proceedings. I wonder if she will then skip town to Israel, where she also has citizenship.

The birthers, the tea baggers, the screamers, and the deathers continued extreme minority presence will become tiresome to mainstream America, if it has not already done so. To all the birthers in La, La Land, it is on you to prove to all of us that your assertion is true, if there are people who were there and support your position then show us the video (everyone has a price), either put up or frankly shut-up. I heard Orly Taitz, is selling a tape (I think it’s called “Money, Lies and Video tape”). She is from Orange County, CA, now I know what the mean when they say “behind the Orange Curtain”, when they talk about Orange County, the captial of Conspiracy Theories. You know Obama has a passport, he travel abroad before he was a Senator, but I guess they were in on it. In my opinion the Republican Party has been taken over the most extreme religious right (people who love to push their beliefs on others while trying to take away the rights of those they just hate) and that’s who they need to extract from their party if they real want to win. Good Luck, because as they said in WACO, “We Ain’t Coming Out”. I heard that she now wants to investigate the “Republican 2009 Summer of Love” list: Assemblyman, Michael D. Duvall (CA), Senator John Ensign (NV), Senator Paul Stanley (TN), Governor Mark Stanford (SC), Board of Ed Chair, and Kristin Maguire AKA Bridget Keeney (SC).
