Peter, the iPhone is a nice device, but too expensive still for my pocketbook. And Bob, I can't smelt it down until I replicate everything I have on it (dictionaries, Chinese language tools, etc.) to my new phone.

And, when I encountered the KFC staff in Guangzhou, I proudly showed them my driver's license (KENTUCKY) and pointed to the statue of the Colonel. They told me they didn't accept any coupons.

You win some sort of modern sainthood of patience award for having a phone last that long! I haven't had a phone last more than two years, ever. Had a Treo 600 a few years back, and often wanted to throw it out (or through) the window because of stability issues.Did you consider the iPhone? Lots of press about the rollout in China.
