OK, this photo is already all over the ‘Net by now, but I had to reproduce it here. I lived through the Civil Rights struggles of the 1950s and 1960s, and I still have to marvel that a black guy is now our president.

I remember some black family firsts in the communities where I lived in during the 50's in up state New York. They were the pioneers of their time.
