Well, such details elude me now … The English names are mostly for the foreign teachers' benefit, since not many can pronounce the Chinese names well.

Of course I remember (everything but the actual SPANISH, of course. Actually, through most of junior high, I think I was "Pepito" while Peter Hershey was "Pedro"). But, that didn't happen in my college German or French classes, or in the ESL classes I taught in Germany, so I was wondering. I think it's a fine/fun thing to do, of course.
